It’s UFC 218 Embedded 3 and heavyweight Francis Ngannou measures himself, against strawweight Michelle Waterson during a media day in LA. Then goes and does some California sightseeing. Featherweight champion Max Holloway stays on track with a personal chef and a fowling expedition. Heavyweight Alistair Overeem, lightweight Eddie Alvarez and featherweight Jose Aldo, arrive in Detroit along with the sun.
At the host hotel, strawweights Cortney Casey, Tecia Torres and Felice Herrig get fight week underway. Lightweight Justin Gaethje checks his weight, lightweight Paul Felder gets goosebumps. And flyweight opponents Henry Cejudo and Sergio Pettis cross paths.
Vasyl Lomachenko Not Interested in Watching Rigondeaux Fight
Ukranian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko who currently holds the WBO World Featherweight and Super Featherweight titles says he is “not interested.” And doesn’t like watching his December 9th opponent, WBA Super World Super Bantamweight, and WBO World Super Bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux fight.
He understands that many fans of boxing are excited about the upcoming super fight between the two number one p4p contenders. Lomachenko says that he is very happy to be part of the bout, as they make history in boxing. He is excited about that challenge and says that we will find out of Rigo is, in fact, the most sophisticated boxer he has ever fought.
Loma feels that his opponents style is a very special, very different style. And with styles like this, it is always hard boxing to find the key, but Vasyl hopes that he will find the key. He believes that half of the fight will actually be a mission to work out his opponent.
Loma feels that he will have to think more in the fight in order to open his defense. While at the same time ensuring the same thing doesn’t happen to him.
The Bigger Man
Although it is believed that Vasyl is the bigger man. After seeing him in the flesh at one of his fights, he thinks they are roughly the same size. But they will soon find out when they square off at the upcoming New York press conference.
And while Lomachenko says that he doesn’t like to watch Rigondeaux’s fights, he believes that the opposite is not true. Making a comparison of being forced to study a subject you hated in school, in his case chemistry. Adding that watching Rigo do his thing inside the ropes is more interesting as it’s the sport of boxing.
Justin Gaethje vs Eddie Alvarez: Technical Brawlers Par Excellence
If ever there was a fight that had all the makings of a good old barnyard brawl, this is it. When the former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion Justin Gaethje steps into the cage at UFC 218. To face the former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez.
We will have two of the very best technical brawlers on the planet going toe to toe. And technical brawlers isn’t a term which I coined. Those words came from the mouth of one Mr. Alvarez himself. Who believes the moniker best encapsulated his fighting style inside the cage.
And it’s a style which has seen him rise through the ranks of the sport to become one of the very best to ever do it. Before signing with the UFC, Alvarez was known by many fans who didn’t catch all that much of Bellator. As the guy who had those wars with Michael Chandler. Which gave us some of the most vicious and grueling back and forth battles ever witnessed in the sport.
Justin Gaethje in the UFC
At UFC 218, he faces off against the undefeated Justin Gaethje. A guy who in many ways mirror’s the same fighting qualities of as his opponent.
When Gaethje first entered the UFC back in July of this year. There was, of course, the obvious question of how he would stack up against the level of competition in the UFC. With 18 wins and 0 losses, were we looking at a special talent? Or a guy who’s record has been padded by competition who would never past the elite level test?
Well, although it wasn’t the prettiest of displays. There’s no doubting the heart and gas tank the former champion brings to the cage. Justin is just one of those tough as old boots guys. Who takes multiple shots to land his own. And while perhaps not being the best gameplan in the world. To date, his non-stop brawling style has the effect of smothering and breaking down all those who step in to face him.
So when these combatants enter the cage at UFC 218. We will be looking at two guys who’s style reflects the other. And when styles make fights. We may very well be looking at the answer to the question of who is the best technical brawler at 155lbs on the planet today?

ALISTAIR OVEREEM DOCUMENTARY | The Reem S4 | Episode 06
In this episode, Alistair Overeem visits Tokyo Japan, where a lot of past memories of fighting come up. Alistair remembers back to the time when he took on and beat Vitor Belfort. As well as the maniac Igor Vovchanchin. All of these fights occurred in the same arena, where he also beat K-1 legend, Badr Hari.
Overeem takes some time to walk around the famous Saitama Arena, where normally he would be fighting. Now, he is here as a tourist. And no matter where he goes in the city he is recognised by fans of the sport.
Next up, Alistair along with the rest of the visiting UFC gang visit a US army base on the outskirts of Tokyo. Along for the journey is MMA veteran, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Another fighter who built his name in Japan back in the days of Pride Fighting Championships. The team spend the day mixing with the soldiers and civilians who live on the base. Signing autographs and discussing plans for the future.
Next up it’s time for the fighters to attend media day, even including those who are ot fighting like Overeem. He’s actually in town as an ambassador for the sport as opposed to competing. And for him it seems quite strange. He is famous in Japan and he loves the country, so why not put him on that card, right?
Saitama Arena for UFC Tokyo
Later on and it’s fight night and time for the UFC debut of Gokhan Saki. Saki and Overeem were once teammates and have also fought each other. But the two maintained a bond throughout their fighting careers.
Last up Alistair visits former opponent and now friend Hiromitsu Kanehara. Who is in the hospital for some back issues. Funny how these gladiators who were once competitors can become such good friends.
Yet another great episode from the outstanding Alistair Overeem documentary series The Reem.

Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, or Tyson Fury – Who is the best heavyweight?
Although the most recent golden era of heavyweight boxing has come and gone. With greats such as Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield and more. Before the division sustained a protracted period where the Klitschko brothers ruled the roost. Are we on the cusp of another great era in the sport?
With fighters such as Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and perhaps a returning Tyson Fury. Are we set to experience a period where these fighters rule the heavyweight division for years to come? And most importantly of all, whois the best heavyweight on the planet right now?
With Fury currently out of the picture. For now, the dominance is split between two men at the very top in Joshua And Wilder. And with no definite date set for these two to fight. Its anyone’s guess as to what shape things will take moving forward.
So let’s take a closer look at the men involved. How they got to where they are and what they bring to the table. Heavyweight boxing hasn’t looked this good for many years. Will we look back in years to come as the Renaissance?

“Conor McGregor is UFC’s cash cow” GSP vs Bisping and DC with Frank Mir
Source RT.com RT: Considering that you got in trouble with the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which banned you from competition for two years, what’s your take on Jon Jones’ situation?
FM: It’s the same metabolite that I’ve gotten in trouble for. I just don’t think they understand that test well enough because it makes no sense. For Jon to take something just before the fight, not even taking it far out, where it’s like ok, if you are going to take a steroid, you are going to take for weeks at a time to get a benefit from it. There is no steroid in the world that works for just one day.
If you take a shot all of a sudden now you can lift more weight, or you can run faster. That doesn’t exist. Steroids make you heal faster, so you can train harder. He passed the tests all the way up to the night before the fight, after the weigh-in. Why would you take anything then? Jon is not stupid, and he doesn’t surround himself with people that are stupid. He has brothers that are in the NFL.
He understands athletics, he understands sports. The guy is a world champion, one of the best fighters in the world. It just doesn’t make sense, it seems very strange to me.
On Daniel Cormier crying in the cage
RT: Another thing that happened right after Jon Jones’ fight with Daniel Cormier, was Cormier’s initial reaction, which you spoke about on your podcast, and which eventually upset DC, who promised to ‘kick your ass’ the next time he sees you. What was your reaction to that?
FM: Obviously he doesn’t want to meet me outside. Fighting in the cage and fighting in the street are two different things. Slight variations. But I’ve told him that we can come on each other’s podcasts so we can talk about it, if he wants to battle that way too. So we can talk about it and discuss it. But I think that isn’t something that he wants to discuss – that’s for one.
You can hear me commentate, and you can hear him commentate – there’s no comparison in our intelligence. And secondly, he already has a losing case. If he’s going to defend the fact that crying after a guy kicked your ass is ok, it’s kind of a rough one to back up. I think that most men would agree that it’s a physiological way to tapping to somebody. If I beat you up, and sit there bawling about it afterwards – I’ve beaten you on every level.
That’s all I was pointing out. You should have gotten out of the cage. His cornermen should have thrown a towel over his head, walked him out and deny him being interviewed. Everybody was mad at Joe Rogan, but that’s Joe’s job – interview fighters. A cornerman’s job is to protect the fighters. So I don’t think that Rogan did anything wrong. Obviously, Daniel couldn’t think straight, he was all over the place.
Very emotional, very hurt from just being knocked out very brutally by Jon. I don’t agree with him crying in front of a bunch of people. I think it looks bad. And everybody else does too. Unless there is a diehard fan, and one of those people, who no matter what he does, are going to defend him. An average person, who is neutral, watches that and goes
‘wow, is that guy crying after that other guy kicked his ass?’
RT: Would you consider a rematch with Cormier, if the chance came around?
FM: That’d be always a great chance. I would like that rematch. In our fight he pretty much just held me against the cage, and won the decision in that way. I would like to have a fight where we actually fought each other, and someone actually gets hurt. I think that’s fighting, not wrestling or holding someone against the cage.
RT: Conor McGregor recently got involved in yet another scandal, when he initiated a brawl in the Bellator cage at their event in Dublin. The UFC then removed Conor McGregor from an event he was scheduled to fight at. Do you think the UFC would go for a tougher punishment if that wasn’t Conor?
FM: I think that they have to do something with Conor. They don’t want to, I’m sure. For the UFC Conor McGregor is the biggest cash cow that they have. He makes a lot of money for the organization. In one sense, a lot of success gives you a lot of leeway, the opportunities to get away with things. But because of the way the media is now in the world, everybody has a phone on them, everybody can voice an opinion.
So it’s almost kind of a backlash now. Being famous makes you actually being more careful. You don’t get privileges that people got 15-20 years ago. Now, because of the backlash the UFC would receive by not doing something to Conor, they have to. There has to be some kind of consequences, because they’ve shown in the past with other fighters they had, that if they touch the referee they got released.
Regardless of apologizing or not. So even though, obviously, they aren’t going to release Conor – and I think most people understand why they wouldn’t – some kind of consequences have to come. Being silent and doing nothing would be a media disaster for them.
On the return of GSP
RT: Another big name for the UFC, Georges St-Pierre, recently made a comeback at the UFC 217 event, which many people believe was one of the best in the promotion’s history. What did you think of the event?
FM: It was a very good and exciting card. The only person that I’ve picked to win, that actually came through and won, was Stephen Thompson. Every other fight, which way I thought it would go, went the opposite. In fact, the Cody Garbrandt – T.J. Dillashaw fight I had as almost a split, I really didn’t know who would win. I went with Cody, because of what he did with Dominick Cruz.
But that fight going, either way, wouldn’t surprise me, because they are both great fighters. The fight that surprised me was Georges St-Pierre versus Bisping. I thought that St-Pierre would not be able to fight for five rounds. He is too heavy, too much time off, and not aggressive enough. And really, besides the left hook, he was looking kind of bad there.
Even though he took down Bisping, he wasn’t doing a lot of damage, like he used to do at welterweight. You know, he caught him with the hook, took the best advantage of it. That fight surprised me. And I thought that if Rose Namajunas can make it three rounds, she deserves a win bonus. She has zero chances to win that fight – I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Francis Ngannou ● The Worlds Hardest Punch ● New Record Holder
Have you ever wondered what the strongest punch in the world looks like? Let’s just say, it’s enough to lift a 240lbs heavyweight off his feet. And the man who holds this record, none less than top UFC heavyweight contender Francis NGannou.
Ngannou comes up against one of his stiffest test to date when he faces veteran fighter Alistair Overeem. On the main card of Holloway vs Aldo II at UFC 218. Ngannou has been looking sensational in the UFC, entering this bout with a record of 10 – 1, 5 – 0 in the UFC.
His physique and power from the outside would seem unrivaled in the heavyweight division. Winning his fights inside the first two rounds, with many via KO/TKO stoppage. With a solid win over The Reem, he is without a doubt in the mix for a shot at the division’s king Stipe Miocic. And with two big strikers like those guys, it would no doubt be a stand up back and forth battle.
But for now, let’s see how he lines up against the seasoned Overeem. The heavyweight title can and will have to wait for now. Can the big man make it 6 – 0inside the octagon. Tune in December 2nd, live from Caesars Arena in Detroit Michigan to find out.
Mirko Cro Cop on Stipe Miocic, Werdum and Crazy Wanderlei Silva
MMA and K-1 legend Mirko Cro Cop sits down with Podcast Inkubator to discuss his life in combat sports. In this specially subtitled section, Cropcop talks about some of the biggest names in MMA. Some of which are his friends and others with whom he has competed against over the years.
Mirko talks about how much he loves the UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, a fellow Croatian/American fighter. Who in the beginning Cro Cop knew had talent, but whom he didn’t necessarily expect to go all the way to the top. He talks about the Stipe Miocic vs Fabricio Werdum title fight. And how he did not expect Werdum to do so well against Stipes boxing.
Fabricio is a great guy, great personality, but his striking not so great. Of course, Mirko knows this as he trained with him for 2 years. Great on the ground, very strong, but he is not a boxer. When you compare him to classically trained boxers, his technique is not very good. But he admits those punches are still dangerous.
He also talks about some other people, who throughout the years he has competed against, including the great Peter Aerts. Another fighter whom he respects greatly and a very good guy to too. Saying that,
“In the end, we all went there and risk our health.”
Adding that they are all there to provide for their families.
Mirko also talks about how he asked to have Wanderlei Silva removed from his hotel at a RIZIN event. Saying that he has respect for Silva from their Pride FC days. But before an event last July, he met Silva and they hugged and smiled.
Both men knew they would not be fighting each other. But when it came to the press conference, Wanderlei started screaming that he wanted to fight Cro Cop again. And for Mirko it was quite strange, as just a few minutes before he was sitting down and smiling with him. But, no problem, thought Cro Cop. I’ll gladly whoop his ass one more time, no problem.
The unified world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua takes on all that mother nature has to offer in Bear’s Grylls Mission. After the pair are dropped on one of the UK’s wildest and most iconic coastlines. We get to see Anthony Joshua embrace the great British outdoors. Taking on yet another challenge in the mission. Doing something, unlike anything he has had to conquer before. The pair camp out under the stars and Bear has plenty of surprises in store for the Olympic hero.

Plus welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal who is coming off of a loss versus Stephen Thompson. Plus the Team Alpha Male head honcho Urijah Faber. All onsite for this weekends card in Shanghai China to answer the fans questions.
Alistair Overeem took on Brock Lesnar at UFC 141 back in 2011. and showed the difference between a world class striker and a wrestler trying to strike. From the get-go, Overeem had Lesnar on the back foot. and it wasn’t long before his superior striking took Brock out of the game.
Feb. 27, 2016 and Michael Bisping took on and defeated the legend that is Anderson Silva via unanimous Decision. Now just a few weeks after losing his middleweight title to Georges St Pierre at UFC 217. Bisping has jumped back into action to face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Shanghai.

Taking a few of Bruce Lee’s writings and observing them through film study.
Coordination is by all means one of the most important considerations in any study of proficiency in sport and athletics. Coordination is equality which enables the individual to integrate all the powers and capabilities of his whole organism.
Into an effective doing of an act the fighter whose movements seem awkward. Never seems to find the proper distance as always being timed. Never out does opponents and always gives warning of his intentions before they become serious. Is suffering chiefly from a lack of coordination the well-coordinated fighter does everything.
Smoothly and gracefully he seems to glide in and out of distance. With a minimum of effort and a maximum of deception. His timing is usually good, because the movements are so rhythmical they tend to establish a complementary rhythm on the part of his opponent. A rhythm he can break to his own advantage because of his perfect control of his own muscles
He seems to out guess his opponent, because he usually takes the initiative. And to a large extent forces the reactions of his opponent. Above all, he makes his movements with a purpose rather than with a doubting hope. Because his confidence in himself before movements can take place, there must be a change of muscular tensions of both sides of the joints. To be moved the effectiveness of this muscular teamwork.
Is one of the factors which determine limits of speed endurance power agility and accuracy in all athletic performances. This was quoted from Bruce Lee’s tow jeet kune do— and gives just a glimpse of the functionality of his work.

Chael Sonnen Meets Randy Couture or the First Time
MMA star Chael Sonnen talks about the first time he met UFC Champion Randy Couture. Sonnen reflects how he was first introduced to Randy when he came to his college to scout wrestlers.
It just so happened that Randy was asked to take Chael out for a free lunch by the college coach. And Randy, being the guy that he is kindly obliged. He and Chael went to the parking lot where Couture had to get in and open the passenger door side with some force. As he was at the time driving what you might consider an old piece of crap.
Chael reminisces about how Randy told him he had just returned from wrestling in Poland, where he had won a tv. Which he summarily sold for $300 to pay his bills. Chael goes on to talk about how he hoped that he would one day be able to win a tv doing the sport he loved.
All of this occurred around 1995, two years before Couture won the UFC heavyweight title. At this particular point in time, he wasn’t even training in mixed martial arts. As it was still such a young sport which almost no one had heard of at the time.
Make your decision Randy
He discusses how when meeting Randy after he had won in his first tournament in the UFC. Couture arrived with his new pickup truck of which he was super proud. With Chael saying that Randy liked nothing more than to drive his new pickup around town.
Soon after Couture was offered his second slot in the UFC with prize money of fifty thousand. A lot more money than he was making in a year of wrestling coaching. Asked by the college coach to decide between coaching and fighting. There was only one route The Natural was going to take. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum defeats Travis Browne at UFC 203 in the second of their two fights. Werdum faces off against up and coming Polish fighter Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night in Sydney.
Daniel Cormier | The Father Who Conquered The World For His Daughter
The story of a man who conquered the world using the memory of his daughter. UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier. Cormier was not given that second chance with this child, his daughter Kayden passed away in a car accident June 14th 2003. He was crushed unable to imagine how he would continue moving forward beneath that weight of unimaginable sorrow.
He thought to himself, Kayden, maybe she is gone, but he can still honour her in everything he does going forward. The moment Daniel Cormier decided to live for something bigger than himself. The memory of his beloved daughter, he made six straight US teams and two straight Olympic teams.
He became a team captain reached the top five in the world wrestling championships. Became an Olympic medalist who’s one of the few select to win a gold medal at the golden grand Prix Ivan Jurgen. Which is considered by many to be the toughest wrestling competition in the world? That is incredible.
But to continue starting MMA in his thirties, almost systematically wreaking havoc with a dad bod. He still carried the beautiful memory of his beloved child into the arena. There wasn’t anything that could stop him. Absolute domination was the only outcome until he met Jon Jones.
Daniel Cormier vs Jon Jones
In presence of his superstar, the world had turned on him and in its wake, he was for the first time defeated. Jon went on to test positive and was temporarily banned. Daniel Cormier continued to reak absolute havoc even in the face of opponents many deemed invincible. It almost seemed too easy for this monster.
And then something interesting happened when presented with the possibility of facing Jon again. He embraced the role world had given him. They hated him, even when he did nothing wrong, he was a role model who actually did everything right.
For the first time before a crowd echoing boos throughout the arena. Daniel had taken up the role and involuntarily became the villain holding his well-earned belt. Thrashing a twitching Jon Jones he sat on the sidelines it appeared no matter how much the world came down to crush him.
What he held in his heart was all that mattered, his friends, his team, his family. In the memory of his beloved Kayden. Through them he was invincible to the pressure they applied and when the time came.
Daniel’s so calm and confident before the only man who ever beat him. But once again as fate would have it, he had lost. The agony you see on his face, it wasn’t just his desire to beat the only man who ever beat him. It was the face of a man who failed. All those who stood behind him even when the rest of the world had turned. It was the agony of failing the memory.
He stepped into the arena with to represent Daniel. Calling out Jon for being on a substance and he truly believed that he has cheated and tried to get an advantage over him using an illegal supplement. Well,
“the other day Jonny’s bones cried at the press conference. Because I had accused him of using steroids. jail believed the same and considering the nature of Ternopil.”
Daniel achieved he became one of the Greatest mixed martial artists ever walked the earth. Thus giving us insight into our own lives. Men who wished to achieve astronomical heights must have a sense of purpose in this confusing world.
Pushing us from place to place with little justification as to why purpose is much harder to achieve. Then one would think. Men especially on a biological level, need a justification a why a reason bigger than themselves to operate at full capacity.
They need to feel like they can give their lives for something bigger than themselves. I mean that is achieved an average man is given laser focus his limits are released. And he becomes phenomenal this is what I see when I see Daniel Cormier. By experiencing one of the darkest depths, a human being can experience reaching into it grasping onto what’s far. And placing it upon his heart as he continues to
walk this plane in memory of his beloved Kayden.
I’ve no doubt he will be immortalized as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. To that end, I encourage you all to find what lights your heart on fire maybe similarly is Daniel.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan talks to comedian Brian Regan about the intensity of watching MMA fights live at the UFC on the Joe Rogan JRE Experience Podcast, JRE 1040. Joe says that he has watched well over 1000 combat sports fights and has seen more knockouts in person than 99.99% of the population.
Regan who is not really into combat sports tells Joe that even though he’s not really into it. He did enjoy the intensity of watching the fights live. The guys go on to talk about UFC, MMA, UFC knockouts, Nate Diaz vs Tyron Woodley and other topics with Brian Regan on the JRE Experience Podcast, 1040.
Tyron Woodley vs Nate Diaz: Fantasy Fight or UFC Nightmare
With little birdies dropping the news that UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley may face Nate Diaz at UFC 219. The first thought which popped into my head was, huh, quickly followed by a “what the?” I know, not very analytical, but what can you do.
Tyron Woodley has been sitting pretty at the top the division now, since knocking out Robbie Lawer at UFC 201.
The issue we have here is that above all else, all parties concerned first and foremost, just want the money. And I get it, prizefighters fight to pay their bills. The promoter promotes to build their business and pay off shareholders.
But, there is a real threat of something which in the long run could have a much more devastating effect on the long-term viability of the UFC brand.
If you start to consistently rip up the rankings format to which almost all major sports adhere. You destroy the fabric of that sport, for it’s no longer a sport. Will it is a sport, but first and foremost it becomes entertainment, followed by the sport.
And with WME IMG looking to service huge debts and get the cash rolling in as quickly as humanly possible. There is a real and tangible possibility of this becoming the new norm.
Now put yourself in the situation of a fighter who has been steadily working their way through the rankings. And now it’s his or her time to shine. That big opportunity which could change their life. And just like that, it gets snatched from under your nose. You did everything you were asked, you played the role. But your boss comes in and moves the goal post mid-game. And you have no power to move them back.
Jumping the Line the New Norm?
Now, someone, will no doubt come out and give the example of one Conor McGregor jumping the lightweight cue. Getting what some might deem an unfair title shot. But what you would have to admit is that McGregor came to the game with something very special. A champion in another division, unbeaten in the promotion and looking to make history by becoming a simultaneous two-division champ.
Nate Diaz would enter the octagon, being a fan favourite yes. But he isn’t even a top 15 ranked fighter. With his (19 – 11) record on Sherdog since 2012 having all the makings of a delicious green and red pepper pizza. And yet another additional topping to add is the fact that the only person Nate Diaz has ever beaten at welterweight was McGregor. In his first ever fight at that weight! And now he becomes the money fight. Why?
Because he stepped into the octagon with the lightweight champion, when not too long before that for the most part. Nate did not in Dana White’s words “move the needle.” Nate’s pulling power is closely intertwined with that of McGregor. And for me at least, entertaining as it might be. A potential matchup with Tyron Woodley will not be the big draw the UFC is hoping for. And what if Nate were to beat T-Wood to become the welterweight champion?
If you were to chart his route to the championship out with pen and paper. How visually skewed a road-map would that be? From nowhere to number one, skipping past a whole division of deserved challengers, grizzled vets and up and comers. It’s a story line which wouldn’t be out of place in the world of professional wrestling. But who knows, perhaps that what the new owners of the UFC are aiming for?
Real or Imagined, How Empires Crumble
After the year that was in it, as the sports biggest star was given free reign to chase his dreams outside the octagon. We now need, more importantly, the fighters involved now need, some type of stability to steady the ship. Because if we see a continuation down this road of this anything-goes style of promoting. There’s a real possibility of pushing away the fans out of the sport, not those who simply want to be entertained! But the fans who want to see fighters who paid their dues, getting their just deserts. It’s only fair.
Some of you may not be too familiar with a promotion called K-1. Who in the noughties was right up there with Pride FC, mainly in Asia. In terms of sheer scale and brand loyalty. Packing out 90 thousand plus seater stadiums, with some of the greatest kickboxers the world has ever known.
Today, K-1 is but a shadow of its former self. A victim of its own success, the rise of MMA. Or perhaps it’s jaunt into the world of freak show fights which diluted their brand’s potency and fans loyalty until it became all but a joke.
Be careful what you wish for UFC. Many the giant has crumbled under the weight of their own ego. Don’t be the just another name on that ever-growing list.
