Paulie Malignaggi “Boxing is Full of Shit” (Robbery By Golden Boy)

Nice to see a fighter being real about the sport he has dedicated his life to. Calling it out when there is blatant underhandedness taking place. It’s an issue which has plagued the sport for many years. Forcing an exodus of fans to search for greener pastures in other realms of combat sports.

This is Paulie Malignaggi’s post fight interview after he fought Juan Diaz in Houston Texas. For the vacant WBO NABO Super Lightweight Title. It was a fight that the pundits had him winning by two, including boxing aficionado Max Kellerman.

Malignaggi calls out the State of Texas, saying that it never gives fighters coming to compete a fair shake. It’s something we have seen time and time again. And many of those times were in career defining fights, at world and even Olympic level.

It’s actually very telling how Kellerman explains that Malignaggi going the distance in the state of the home town fighter. Would not go his way in terms of scorecards. A pretty blatant acknowledgment of the fact the corruption is rife and an accepted element of the sport.

What will we see in the upcoming Mayweather vs McGregor fight if it should be in any way a close result? Will the boxing judges favour the incoming MMA fighter in the home of boxing, Las Vegas Nevada?

Its the whole reason for the McGregor camp trying to select certain judges in the lead-up. Giving the impression that the judging should be fair. Where as some other judges are known for their repeat bad decisions. So it’s something which was at the forefront of their minds. Now on August 26th, we find out if they had any reason to worry in the first place.
