Alistair Overeem: The Reem S4 | Episode 05
We catch Alistair Overeem as he prepares to take on his old foe Fabricio Werdum. In the 5th episode of The Reem, season 4. We go into the training camp in Albuquerque for the fight which takes place in Las Vegas. Where Overeem and Werdum will battle it out for the third time!
We get to see Alistair inside JacksonWink as he puts the final touches to his camp. His coaches and training partners talk about his abilities and what he will bring to the fight this time around. Many people assume that Overeem is only a striker. But he has an all round game, without any holes according to his sparring partner.
Cut to the barber shop where Alistair is getting the winners haircut before his fight. Seems as though many of the top fighters go to this guy to get their mane chopped before stepping into the cage. With a laundry list of guys and the fight posters, they gave as presents to prove it.
Back inside the gym and Overeem is getting in plenty of ground work. As he prepares to face multiple time BJJ world champion Werdum. Ariel Helwani has him on the show and points out the amount of ground work he seems to be doing in the previous episode of The Reem. But Alistair says it’s just a coincidence that so much ended up in the final cut.
Then we get to see some footage from the hotel fire which happened just a few metres from where Alistair and team were staying. It’s a location they use for up to six months of the year. But no time for tears, as the guys prepare to finally head for Vegas and fight week.
International Fight Week
As they settle into the International Fight Week. It’s almost time for the two fighters to face off once again, before they step into the octagon. Team Overeem relaxes in the hotel as the fight approaches. Then it’s time to hit the T Mobile arena. The fans are in attendance, the opponent is ready to go. The fight is on.
