"BRING YOUR BALLS" - Conor McGregor Challenges Malignaggi to Real Fight

Conor McGregor Challenges Malignaggi “BRING YOUR BALLS”

So Conor McGregor has been keeping busy outside of the ring and cage. Making a special appearance at the SSE arena in Glasgow. During the Q&A he was asked who he is likely to face in the near future. with quite a list of potential opponents. Conor singled out his ex-sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi for some special treatment saying,

“Paulie on the other hand… he’s talking enough shit… I know he’s looking for a fight… he’s talking about balls, bring your balls. And do this and do that… Bring your balls and come fight in a real fight,”

stated the UFC two-division champion. Firing some warning shots across the bows of multi-division former world champion Malignaggi.

It has to be pretty obvious to Paulie that should he ever decide to accept the offer. And step into the world of mixed martial arts. The former boxing champ would no doubt be in for a whole world of hurt. And an all but assured guaranteed loss.

But if the purse is big enough. Who knows if the New Yorker would have big enough balls to face McGregor in his domain. Can’t have it all your own way in this life Paulie.

Here’s a Story About the Greatest Wrestler Ever With Chael Sonnen

Chael Sonnen: Here’s a Story About the Greatest Wrestler Ever

The greatest fighter to ever live, Chael P Sonnen. Telling us the story of the greatest wrestler who has ever lived. A 21 year old Russian by the name Abdulrashid Sadulaev. Not some guy who lived years ago who’s story has been passed down through the annals of folklore.

Sadulaev appears to be everything that the old fable story myths are. Except, that he is actively competing in the sport right now. In wrestling, you have the cadets, the juniors, University, then the senior level.

Sadulaev is an athlete who at the ripe young age of 17 won the cadet world championships two times. This made him instantly eligible for the two divisions above him. which he skips and is thrown straight into the senior division by the Russian Federation.

Sadulaev takes part in the world championships which takes place in Las Vegas Nevada. The Russian not only won the senior championship, running through everybody in the process. When his opponents would be exiting the match. They would have a look on their faces Chael had only seen one time before. And that was when wrestler faced the great Alexander Karelin.

When exiting the bout they would have a look of relief that the match was over and that there were not hurt. Fully accepting defeat at Karelin’s hands.

Facing Cuban wrestler Reineris Salas

Chael not being familiar with wrestlers outside of the US. Had little way to qualify the wins of Abdulrashid Sadulaev. It wasn’t until the following year when he faced the well-known Cuban wrestler Reineris Salas. Who had previously scored a silver medal in the senior worlds. So now we have a legit senior in against the young Russian, who is still eligible for the juniors and universities.

Sadulaev disposed of Salas in under 90 seconds, without losing a point.

But in International wrestling, sometimes there are alot of politics involved. So with that in mind., Chael’s thoughts on the Russian were once again thrown into disarray. Was he legit or simply a product of the sometimes corrupt system? Probably best if we let Chael tell you the rest of the story himself.

KGB Lee: An Elite Flyweight Joins the UFC

Andrea KGB Lee joins UFC.

KGB Lee: An Elite Flyweight Joins the UFC

Beside myself with excitement as one of my absolute favourite fighters outside the UFC is about to get her big chance, what better time to introduce one of the most under-appreciated fighters in WMMA today?

Less than a week after her devastating victory at LFA 23 in Louisiana, Ariel Helwani reported that she’ll be fighting at UFC 216 against one of the unheralded division’s stalwarts, Brazil’s Kalindra Faria.

She looks like a Russian chick

KGB (nicknamed so after head coach Donny Aaron decided “she looks like a Russian chick”) will be looking to join the likes of Jessica Aguilar, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Claudia Gadelha as one of only 5 women to get a victory over the 23 fight Brazilian veteran.

So, who is Andrea Lee? And why should you care? Currently the LFA Women’s Flyweight Champion, the Texan has had an explosive 2017 so far. Having had an extremely busy year, Lee returned from an extremely harsh suspension due to a banned diuretic, in March 2016 with a bang.

4-0 in 2017 thus far, Lee knocked out veteran Jenny Liou Shriver at Invicta’s first show of the year, and followed that up by winning the LFA strap with an armbar victory over Heather Bassett just a month later.

Andrea KGB Lee in the rodeo.

Splitting her time between LFA and Invicta, she would return to Shannon Knapp’s promotion in the summer to eke out a decision over Portland, Oregon native Liz Tracy Invicta 23.

Last week she got back into the habit of finishing fights, after Jamie Thorton finally succumbed to the KGB onslaught, and tapped to a textbook 2nd round Kimura. (A fight you can watch in full here on YouTube because LFA look after their fans).

Replacing Vanzant

Existing as one of the biggest names in the division, Andrea Lee confirmed to MMA Junkie (rocking her trademark Cowboy hat), prior to her win that she chose to turn down the ringer of The Ultimate Fighter, and her decision has paid dividends as she answers the call to replace the Paige VanzantJessica Eye fight as the Women’s flyweight curtain raiser.

Currently ranked 4th in the division by Tapology.com, the 28 year old is an extremely well-rounded Mixed Martial Artist. Lee is a black belt in Kyokushin Karate, a Jiu Jitsu purple belt under the legendary Relson Gracie, a Judo brown belt, and a god-damn Muay Thai fiend (as you’ll see if you watch the above fight).

Training out of Karate Mafia in Shreveport Louisiana, the Texan has a strong, supportive team around her in one of the most underrated camps in all of MMA, and is well placed to make a big splash in the division in 2018 and beyond.

Put simply, Andrea Lee is without doubt one of the very elite at the weight class, and regardless of who emerges from TUF 26 with the belt, Lee will be champing at the bit to exchange her LFA title belt for a UFC one. A late starter to MMA, Lee lost a super-close decision to the very experienced Roxanne Modafferi at Invicta 10 in just her third pro fight.

With the ‘Happy Warrior’ currently blazing a trail in her 2nd spell in the Ultimate Fighter house, a rematch between Lee and the number one seed for the title would be an intriguing prospect, and Lee would undoubtedly relish an opportunity to right that wrong on the biggest stage of all.

Guillermo 'El Chacal' Rigondeaux | Breakdown • Skill Study • Highlights

Guillermo Rigondeaux | Breakdown • Skill Study • Highlights

“The Southpaw Caracal” | Southpaw Striking Tactics: feat. Guillermo Rigondeaux

Guillermo Rigondeaux, commonly referred to by his moniker ‘El Chacal’ (Jackal in English). Moves and reminds me much more of a Caracal cat. His ability to switch from light footed slow movement into explosive assault is uncanny.

Rigondeaux, a Cuban professional boxer, has held multiple world championships at super bantamweight, including the WBA and lineal since 2013, and previously the WBO and Ring magazine titles between 2013 and 2016. He is ranked as the world’s best super bantamweight by The Ring Magazine, and the sixth best active boxer, pound for pound.

As an amateur, Rigondeaux won consecutive gold medals in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. He is also a seven-time Cuban national champion at bantamweight, finishing his amateur career with a record of nearly 475 fights. After Rigondeaux’s defection, he turned professional and remains undefeated (17-0-1).

Vasyl Lomachenko

Much like his upcoming MegaFight opponent Vasyl Lomachenko, Rigondeaux is considered to be one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time. Freddie Roach said that ‘El Chacal” was “Probably the greatest talent I’ve ever seen.”

Rigondeaux is known for his incredible footwork, misdirection, reflexes, hand speed, counter-punching ability and evasion, being an exceptionally difficult fighter to hit. Here (thanks to contest winner – Towel 88) we will focus on southpaw striking tactics, from the ABC’s and 123’s, to more advanced concepts Guillermo often employs.

The Druid's Cage - Irish MMA Documentary

Irish MMA Documentary – The Druid’s Cage

The Druid’s Cage is an Irish documentary which follows the exploits of Robert Devane. A professional mixed martial artist from Dublin. Who is in the midst of training for his 6th and final professional MMA bout in Newcastle, England.

We are brought along in the journey as Robert explains the process through which he first fell in love with MMA. We also get to see him taking part in a grappling tournament. As he prepares to enter the cage for the last time.

Splitting his time between his own gym in Dublin. And that of former UFC fighter Ian “The Machine” Freeman in Newcastle England.

At the age of 36, Robert feels within himself that the time for his retirement is fast approaching. As duties and requirements outside of the sport begin to take up more and more of his time.

He goes to great lengths to explain what he believes are the differences between someone like himself, who is aggressive, but not violent. As opposed to someone who is just outright violent. And he wants to show the viewer, that people who are involved in combat sports, although aggressive. Are not necessarily violent people. For them, it is a way to release that aggression within and funnel it into competition.

We follow along as the last few days wind down until it’s fight day. Robert spends his days in the gym staying in shape. While getting in his cardio to ensure his weight stays down. As it happens, the dreaded weight cut for this particular fight isn’t as bad as some previous. And Rob relaxes for the final few hours pre-fight.

It’s Fight Night

Then finally it’s fighting night and after all the weeks, months and years of training, sparring and competing. This will be Rob’s final time entering the cage as a professional.

Post-fight we get to hear from what his thoughts were about the bout. And after some time to think, his future in the sport and Irish MMA. But will he compete again?

FREDDIE ROACH IN ST-PIERRE'S CORNER FOR BISPING FIGHT

FREDDIE ROACH FEELS ST-PIERRE’S ATHLETICISM WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE IN BISPING FIGHT

Legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach has been training Georges St Pierre on and off for many years. The Wild Card gym head coach was also instrumental in discussions between the UFC and St Pierre. which paved the way for his return from a four-year hiatus.

Now as the French Canadian gets set to once again sep back inside the octagon. Facing the middleweight champion Michael Bisping for the 185lb belt. Roach discusses where St Pierre is at in terms of his preparation for the big fight.

Moving up from 170lbs to middleweight to fight a bigger man in itself has issues. Georges has had to bulk up in order to compete in the weight class. Something he has been working toward in the subsequent months.

Now Roach feels that he is ready to go, looking sharp and coming along nicely. He feels that in this fight the difference will be George athleticism against the bigger Bisping. Who although is a very tough opponent. Doesn’t possess the same athletic prowess as the former undisputed welterweight champion.

For this particular camp, Roach will be splitting his time between the Wild Card gym. And training St Pierre at Tristar in his home city of Montreal. Another first will be seeing Roach in his corner for the boxing coaches first time cornering a UFC fight. Seeing the legendary trainer at an MMA event will itself be quite the spectacle for fight fans. Showing us the close connections between the two combat sports.

Roach also talks about the differences between the sports. And how MMA athletes should stick to what they are good at. Giving the example of Ronda Rousey, who believed when she was told that she was a great boxer. If she had stuck to what she was good at, thing may have turned out quite differently.

Joe Duffy Sees Conor McGregor vs Georges St Pierre

Conor McGregor vs Georges St Pierre Says Joe Duffy

Irish UFC lightweight fighter Joe Duffy is soon to face American James Vick on the massive UFC 217 card at Madison Square Garden New York. The card, of course, is headlined by a middleweight title fight with the champion Michael Bisping. Facing the returning former undisputed welterweight champion Georges St Pierre.

St Pierre has been away from the sport for just shy of four years. Having stepped away following yet another successful title defence against Johny Hendricks.

Conor McGregor with Georges St-Pierre.Now the former poster boy of the UFC looks to claim yet another scalp in the former of the current champion Michael Bisping. Having added significant bulk to his frame, St Pierre believes that his combination of skills and fight IQ will be enough to dethrone the Brit.

Duffy however, like others in his team see another potential super fight on the horizon which makes a tonne of sense. With a win over Bisping, a matchup against the current lightweight superstar Conor McGregor would be the fight to make. Speaking with Sunsport, Duffy commented,

“It’s a huge fight — two of the biggest pay-per-view sellers.

“I’m sure that it’s the kind of fight that Conor wants to be involved in, that’s going to really push his legacy. And Georges is interested in the same thing. It makes a lot of sense,”

With St Pierre, you have the former undisputed PPV king. And with McGregor, you have the current undisputed draw in the sport. On paper it makes perfect sense, so we have no doubt that the UFC top brass will be eyeing up the potential windfall, should St Pierre get the win at UFC 217.

Duffy himself has his own test ahead facing the much taller opponent in the 6ft 3″ Vick. So Irish eyes will be focused on MSG NYC come November 4th. All be it for different reasons. Best of luck to Duffy in his quest.

One of The Most Inspirational Speeches EVER - Mike Tyson - WHEN LIFE GETS HARD

Mike Tyson – WHEN LIFE GETS HARD

The former world heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson is an often much maligned and misunderstood man. Growing up as he did ina dysfunctional household. Iron Mike was forced from a very young age to fend for himself.

Moving to Brownsville New York as a youth. Tyson was thrown into an environment which was racked with crime and violence. Which forced the teen to adapt or simply be destroyed. His mother was involved in prostitution and a young Mike learned that he was able to rob from clients when they fell asleep in his home.

Mike says that he was born with great perception. And while watching others fight, he knew even as a young man his time would come.

I knew I was Going to Be Champion of the world Before I Died. I Knew I Wasn’t Going to Die Before I Became Champ

In Tyson’ words, dying is just as glorious as living. You couldn’t have death without life. So how could death be less glorious than life?

Mike used to get bullied at school, so as a result, he stopped attending. when he would go to school he would simply hang around. This led to him mixing with the wrong people. It was through subsequent events which led Mike to finally be taken in by his coach and mentor, Cus D’Mato.

Cus treated Mike like no one before. Telling him he would be the heavyweight champion of the world. That he was a God. And that not even the sons of Gods would be able to beat his fighter. Simply because he was his fighter.

But throughout his time with D’Amato, Tyson always knew his place. Even as he began to rise in the ranks of boxing. Cus would always make sure he remained focused. And both demanded and received respect from his burgeoning heavyweight world champion.

Truly One of The Most Inspirational Speeches You will EVER Hear...

Ferguson vs Lee UFC 216 - THE F**KIN' WAR

Tony Ferguson vs Kevin Lee UFC 216 – THE F**KIN’ WAR | Sat., Oct 7

El Cucuy Tony Ferguson vs The Motown, Phenom Kevin Lee UFC 216 Promo! Headphones Recommended!

Their interim lightweight title fight was originally booked as the headlining match on the upcoming pay-per-view scheduled for Oct. 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., and that hasn’t changed after the UFC officially updated the bout order with the Demetrious Johnson-Ray Borg flyweight title fight Monday.

Johnson and Borg were supposed to fight at UFC 215, but the bout was cancelled when an illness forced Borg to withdraw less than 48 hours before the event. They were quickly re-booked for UFC 216, but the promotion is sticking with Ferguson and Lee to close the show.

In the co-main event, Johnson will attempt to defend his championship for the 11th straight time, which will break a tie with Anderson Silva for the most consecutive successful title defences in UFC history.

Celtic Boxing Legends – Celtic Fists Part 1

Celtic Boxing Legends Short Documentary Part 1

A really excellent short documentary, following the exploits of Celtic boxing legends. In Celtic fists, we are brought on a journey which takes us through the early years of Irish, Welsh and Scottish fighters and their exploits in the sport of boxing.

The main focus of the short brings us back to the early 1800’s and onwards. When a golden era of Celtic boxing appeared on the horizon.

Introduced by former World Champion Barry McGuigan. Barry opens up with what today might be considered a pretty provocative comment stating;

“I think we are tougher than the Anglo Saxons. I think we are more tenacious, more determined. And I think we are more, just more of a firebrand of nature. Celts were always pretty volatile people. And it’s always worked for the Celtic fighters I know.”

Poverty does something to a man, it’s pushed him over the edge. And throughout the Celtic Nations of the British Isles. Poverty was something which was ingrained in the psyche of every man woman and child for many generations gone by.

For many, boxing became the only way for them to pull both themselves and their family out of the cycle of poverty. However, boxing itself also led to the early demise of many a man. Who either through the excesses of fame and fortune, unable to handle the upheaval it brought into their lives. Becoming such a common trait that it was inextricably linked with the sport itself.

We get to meet with and hear from some of the very world champions. Who in their own words detail both their rise and fall from stardom. It’s effects and the common string throughout all their shared experience. Overindulging in the high life. And an inability to adjust to normal life outside of the ring.

We also get to hear from those nearest and dearest who have lost their loved ones to death inside the ropes. All in all a fascinating insight into the coloured and chaotic history of Celtic boxing. A real must for any fan of the dangerous and addictive sport.

A Tribute to Japanese Martial Arts in MMA

Martial arts lyoto machida.

A Tribute to Japanese Martial Arts in MMA

This weekend the world’s premier MMA organisation makes its long-awaited return to one of the most influential countries of traditional martial arts. The Land of the Rising Sun, Japan.

The historical origins of Japanese martial arts can be traced back to the warrior traditions of the samurai. Originally, samurai was expected to be proficient in unarmed combat as well as the use of many weapons. This schooling helped them attain the highest possible mastery of combat skills.

Over the years many martial arts forms have been developed in Japan and are extremely diverse in philosophy and application. Some of these styles have played a massive part in the history of the evolution of mixed martial arts.

Here we take a look at the most important, Judo, Karate and then, of course, the development of kickboxing.

Judo > Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Judo dates back to 1882 and translates to English as ‘gentle way’. The art evolved into combative form and made an informal demonstration appearance at the 1932 Olympic Games. Its first appearance at the games as an Olympic sport came fittingly at the Tokyo Games in 1964.

Although traditional techniques are relatively rare in modern day mixed martial arts, the art form has played a monumental role in its evolution. That is because Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an indispensable part of every mixed martial artist’s skill set.

This art form, although as the name dictates is Brazilian in origin, was formed using the fundamentals of Judo as a starting point. BJJ, as it is commonly known now, became its own sport through practices, experimentation, and adaptation of Judo through Carlos and Helio Gracie.

The famous Gracie family have been passing their knowledge down through generations since and have opened schools on every corner of the planet. Members of the family have taken the step into competitive freestyle martial arts and continue to be successful to this day.

Royce gracie UFC 1 win.But it was when Royce (son of Helio) entered and won the UFC 1 tournament in 1993 that the sport of MMA was revolutionized, by a higher emphasise being put on grappling. Gracie submitted his way through the quarter final, semi, and then final and in doing so popularised the art form forever.

Today we have many elite mixed martial artists with submission grappling at the base of their skill set. Japan’s very own Shinya Aoki is right up there with the very best of them. A black belt in Judo and BJJ, Aoki has used practically every submission in the book to submit 24 of his opponents in his 46 professional MMA contests.

Former UFC middleweight contender and current welterweight contender Demian Maia is a highly decorated BJJ competitor. Anderson Silva, arguably the greatest UFC champion ever, had three impressive submission victory title defences during his reign. And skilled grappler Nate Diaz brought to a halt the locomotive trajectory of one Conor McGregor with a rear naked choke.

As mentioned before, traditional Judo techniques are rare in modern MMA. But if Royce Gracie is to be credited with revolutionising the sport, Ronda Rousey deserves just as much credit for her role in popularising women’s MMA. And she did so using Judo.

Rousey is an Olympic bronze medal winner from the 2008 games in Beijing. In doing so she became the first American woman in history to medal in Judo at the Olympics. The previous year she took home gold and silver medals at the Pan American Games and World Championships.

The talented Judoka applied her skills to the mixed martial arts world immediately. Her first eight professional fights ended in submission, usually via armbar. Rousey grounded her opponents with relative ease using hip throws and sweeps, so efficient in her technique that nine of her eleven professional wins came inside the opening minute.

Karate > Kickboxing

Karate, again, isn’t widely used in mixed martial arts but became an effective technique for some of the biggest names in the sport. Bas Rutten, Georges St-Pierre, Lyoto Machida and ‘The Karate Hottie’ Michelle Waterson are all black belt practitioners in various styles of Karate.

UFC japan lyoto machida martial arts.Machida in particular consistently brought that wide stance into his fights and has probably had the most success. Even bringing to life the famous ‘crane kick’ from The Karate Kid movie when he KO’d Randy Couture with a jumping front kick. ‘The Dragon’ likes to embrace his full Japanese and Brazilian heritage in combat as he’s also highly skilled in both BJJ and Sumo.

Kickboxing, of course, is a massive part of the mixed martial arts world and was developed from Karate. Japanese kickboxing dates back to the 1960’s. It is considered a hybrid martial art and was brought to prominence in 1974 when the PKA (Professional Karate Association) held its first world championships.

Competitive kickboxing and competitive MMA are vastly different. An MMA fight is much more diverse and more emphasis might go on distance as a competitor has to be aware of the threat of grappling exchanges. That being said, and experienced kickboxer can make the switch in sports and expect to find reasonable success.

An example of this is would be the current UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The Polish superstar is a three-time world kickboxing champion and six-time world Muay Thai champion. Her resume speaks volumes but it’s watching Joanna compete in MMA that amplifies the benefits of a strong kickboxing background.

joanna jedrzejczyk vs jessica andradeShe is head and shoulders above the majority of women in the sport. Her technique is so clean and her striking so accurate, she is a joy to watch inside the octagon. Jedrzejczyk is 14-0 in professional MMA (8-0 UFC) and has a plethora of highlight reels to accompany her along the way.

Another competitor not shy of a highlight reel is Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. The UFC welterweight contender is a lifelong karate practitioner, former undefeated pro kickboxing champion and one of, if not the best striker in mixed martial arts today.

His kickboxing record is 37-0 as an amateur and 57-0 as a professional. That’s 95 wins in a row in competitive kickboxing. Truly exceptional and the stuff of legends.

He hasn’t had it all his own way since making the switch to MMA though. He’s 13-2 (8-1-2 UFC) and twice came close to winning the title against the dogged UFC champ Tyrone Woodley. But it’s his karate style that makes him a fan favourite and so exciting to watch.

This Saturday another kickboxer will attempt to make the transition to mixed martial arts. Gokhan Saki is a Dutch-Turkish kickboxing legend. He holds wins over some of the biggest names in the game. His accolades include world titles in K-1, Muay Thai and most recently the Glory light-heavyweight championship.

This May the world of MMA was brimming with excitement when Saki announced he had signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC. He will take on Brazilian Muay Thai specialist Henrique Da Silva in what promises to be an absolute war of a fight. No less than what those Japanese martial arts fans in attendance deserve.

Michael Bisping Responds to Low IQ Luke Rockhold's Recent Callout

Michael Bisping responds to Luke Rockhold’s recent Callout

The current UFC middleweight Champion Michael Bisping responding to Luke Rockhold’s recent callout. Rockhold has been scathing in his attacks on Bisping. Stating that he feels the champion is avoiding all the top contenders and managing to cherrypick who he fights. With Jacare and Romero got leapfrogged by Dan Henderson and now Georges St Pierre.

Rockhold is looking to get his rematch and reclaim the title he lost in shocking fashion. But Michael Bisping isn’t having any of it and had his own choice words for the former 185lb champion.

While Bisping fought less than 12 months ago. Rockhold has been away from action for 15 months. After he suffered his loss to Bisping. Then on his return, he faces a guy who Bisping says he had never heard of.

The Count feels that Rockhold need to rematch against the other former champ Chris Weidman. Two bums as he calls them, as they both try to claw their way back to the top. Adding to that some derogatory words about their intellectual capacity.

It’s always fun and games when Bisping goes on attack mode. And right now there’s no one else in the world who gets more under his skin than Rockhold. These two do not like each other.

Is it a rematch we will ever get to see after Bisping announced that his fight against GSP may be his last? Only time will tell.

Luke Rockhold Dropped by UFC Tonight to Talk About his Future at Middleweight division.

Luke Rockhold on His Future at Middleweight and LHW

The former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold dropped into UFC Tonight. To discuss all things in the middleweight division. Fresh off his win over the former WSOF middleweight champion David Branch. Rockhold says that he is also entertaining the prospect of moving up to light heavyweight.

The elephant in the room that is current division champion Michael Bisping also popped up. As Rockhold talked about how he feels Bisping has avoided al the top contenders in the division. Not taking on Jacare or Romero. Instead, opting to face Dan Henderson who was ranked at 14th that time.

Now the champion is fighting a guy who isn’t even a middleweight. Making his way back to the sport after a 4-year layoff. In Rockhold’s eyes, it is unheard of for the champion to get such special treatment.

In the perfect scenario, GSP would not be able to make the Madison Square UFC 217 showdown. Allowing Rockhold to slide into his spot and take on Bisping once again. The second best possible outcome is that he faces the current interim champion, Robert Whittaker.

The fighter who he feels is the true current middleweight champion. Having faced all comers and now also waiting his turn for the Bisping show to play out.

“In Portent, We Trust” Part One – Kickboxing.

Tenshin Nasukawa ( 那須川天心, Nasukawa Tenshin, born in Matsudo, Chiba, Japan) who’s been justifiably given the moniker “Striking Prodigy” by fellow analysts Lawrence Kenshin and MindSmash, is a recently 19-year-old Kyokushin Karate stylist who’s competed in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and recently in MMA for Rizin.

(Though I’ve explained the anatomy of a knockout at length, this is more of a side note.) He is anomalous in that he is a knockout artist in every sense of the moniker, yet only 5’4″ and 125 pounds. Normally finishers tend to not still be in their teens fighting veterans, nor are they as diminutive in stature. This isn’t some odd coincidence, merely a matter of physics as someone who fights 100 lbs. Heavier, would naturally carry with that a ton more power.

Why Gennady GGG Golovkin Beat Canelo Alvarez (Landed Punches Count)

Why GGG Gennady Golovkin Won vs. Canelo Alvarez

One of the biggest discrepancies from the super fight between GGG Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez. Was the vast differences in the scoring at the final bell. While judges Don Trella had it 114-114 from and a 115-113 scorecard in favor of Golovkin from Dave Moretti. The third judge on the night Adalaide Byrd had it at 118 – 110 for Canelo.

I think it is fair to say that this scorecard has sent some shockwaves through boxing. Once again shining the spotlight on a sport many feel has lost its way in terms of who now calls the shots. Too much money and power in the hands of those private entities who oversee the sport they themselves promote.

With this being such a high profile fight, there was pretty much nowhere for Byrd to hide. And the veteran judge has now been temporarily suspended from judging any major boxing matches in the near future.

Will the effects of the fallout from one of the most anticipated boxing match in some time. Have any actual long-lasting effect on the sport itself is yet to be known. Let us hope that this in some way is a wakeup call.

Punch by punch analysis

But until that time, let us look back at the fight itself. And a punch for punch analysis by Artorias Boxing. Who shows us definitively who was the fighter who landed the most significant punches on the night.

Follow along as we are taken through every shot which landed. Including those that should have been counted and even those which were off the mark. You the viewer can see for yourself exactly did the most significant damage on the night. And outscored their opponent to win the fight.

Let’s take  a closer look at the middleweight clash that was GGG vs Canelo, punch for punch.
