UFC Commentator John Gooden, UFC Gdansk’s Sam Alvey, Cody Stamann | OFT #85

On this episode, we were joined by two men you’ll see at UFC Gdansk: Cerrone vs. Till this weekend. John Gooden and Smile’n Sam Alvey. We were also joined by Cody Stamann who recently beat Tom Duquesnoy at UFC 216.

Gooden, who will be on play-by-play duties at UFC Gdansk alongside colour commentator Dan Hardy. So you’ll probably hear him more than see him, joined the show for the first time. We discussed UFC Gdansk, including the main event between Donald Cerrone and Darren Till. We looked back at his background in MMA broadcasting; chat about his idea of ‘Soccer AM’ style MMA programme. Talked about his partnership with Dan Hardy; and more.

Alvey, who accepted a short-notice fight against Ramazan Emeev at this weekend’s UFC Gdansk event, talks about his decision to take the fight. His victory over Rashad Evans; his wife’s role in his camp; weight cutting for the short notice fight; and more.

Stamann, who is coming off the biggest win of his career over ‘Fire Kid’ Tom Duquesnoy, joined us for a chat about the fight itself, cleared up his ‘beef’ with Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier after their commentary, says who he’d like to fight next, and more.
